California Cycle Path, a boutique fitness studio, spans three consecutive store fronts on California Avenue in the Brighton Heights Business District. A passerby may take note of the bright orange and neon green signage or the neat window displays; however, this view from the outside offers just a small peek into what has become a true hidden gem in the Pittsburgh fitness market.
Founded in 2013 by Brighton Heights residents and fitness enthusiasts John Bratton and Larry Crouser, California Cycle Path began solely as an Indoor Cycling studio. Following initial success, the studio expanded into two neighboring storefronts, which allowed for the addition of other class formats. Dance Fitness and TRX were soon added after the expansion, followed by a variety of other classes including Rowing, Pilates, Heavy Bag, Pound and Turbo Kick. One-on-one personal coaching sessions are also available.
California Cycle Path has experienced considerable growth over the past five years, including the addition of a third business partner, Lauren Bradford, in 2017. Like John and Larry, Lauren also resides in Brighton Heights and shares a love for all things fitness.
While these common interests unite the owners of California Cycle Path and certainly guide the studio’s mission and vision, what truly defines California Cycle Path is its all-inclusive, welcoming and supportive environment. When laying the foundation for the studio, John and Larry had a strong vision – a vision of inclusion. They wanted to create a high-quality, affordable and fun fitness facility. A place where people know your name and take interest in the journey that brought you to California Cycle Path. This vision has undoubtedly been accomplished.
If you have yet to pass through the doors of California Cycle Path, give it a try. Countless numbers of current clients commonly remark that they never thought they would ever set foot in a fitness facility. Seems they just hadn’t yet found the right one.
