Recycling is mandatory for every resident, business, office and institution in the City of Pittsburgh. The City also provides a recycling drop-off service for residences and small businesses. Public Works Drop-Off Centers All Public Works centers are open Monday through Friday (except holidays) from 8:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
East End Drop-Off Center (West Homewood/East Liberty) North Dallas Ave. at Hamilton Ave. 412-665-3609

West End Drop-Off Center Next to Herschel Field (from Steuben St., turn on Herschel St., turn right on Hassler St. and pass salt igloo) 412-937-3054 Please note: West End Drop-off Center may offer Saturday hours. Call for details.
Strip District Drop-Off Center (Bureau of Environmental Services) Facility is open 24 hours/ day. Open to small businesses, bars and restaurants. 30th & Railroad Streets (near City's tow pound and refuse collection offices) 412-255-2773 Please note: Does NOT accept yard debris, scrap metal or tires.
Construction Junction (Point Breeze) Facility is open during Construction Junction business hours. Call 412-243-5025. 214 N. Lexington Ave. (off Penn Ave.) Please note: Does NOT accept yard debris, scrap metal or tires.
To make arrangements to dispose of Freon appliances (refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers), contact Construction Junction (412-243-5025) or Appliance Warehouse (412-381-8800).
